A Week in the Everglades

Introduction

Your family is going on a one week vacation to the Everglades. Your parents are letting you decide what your family will do while on vacation.  Complete the tasks listed below using the internet sites provided.  Happy trails!

Task #1

Before you begin your vacation, you need to pack for the week.  What kinds of clothes will you bring?  You will need enough clothes for a week of outdoor activities in Southern Florida.  Check the 5-day weather forecast for the coming week and use it to plan your wardrobe.   Click on the sunshine to go to the weather page.  When you are done, click the back button.

Task #2

You will be camping in the Long Pine Key Campground for the week.  You need to know how far you are from the many places there are to visit in the Everglades National Park.  Print the question sheet.  Click on the globe.  Use that map and the map scale to answer the questions on your printed sheet.

Task #3

Your parents are allowing you to choose 3 places or activities that you would like to visit your during your trip to the Everglades.  Print the trip ticket.  Click on the frog.  He will take you to two different web sites you can use to plan you activities.  Fill out a trip ticket for each activity you would like to do.  Money is no object!
