The
Renaissance period in history is full of beautiful artifacts and interesting
people. Many people like to research
artists, music and locations on their own, outside of class. This web list is to assist those people and
also to assist teachers. The following
websites will be very beneficial in enhancing the Renaissance lessons teachers
have already made.
1. Renaissance
This will give you a basic background on the Renaissance period. It is very clear and concise and has loads
of information and links. This may be a
good place to start a Renaissance unit.

This is a site for teachers! It connects the Renaissance to today and has some great ideas for
incorporating technology into the lesson and discussion.

Instruments
This site gives an extensive list on many instruments from
the period including the lute, serpent, and bladder pipe. It includes pictures, explanations and sound
bites! Very fun!

This site is terrific and created by a teacher. It can take you to visit people and famous
places. It can take you to see village
life. It has great links and images. Teachers could incorporate this as a project
or use it as an independent resource site.

information. There is a simulation, how
to create a Renaissance Fair, a link to a site about Renaissance Women and so

This webquest is designed to have students research a
historical Renaissance character and then portray that person at a Renaissance

This site gives the background on artists during the Renaissance and beautiful examples of their work. This site is worth the browse. (Don’t be intimidated by it’s boring front page!)

This list can be used in many ways with a little
creativity. Search the sites to find
what will work best to enhance your classroom. It can be as simple as showing your students digital images of
art or as detailed as a webquest. It’s
all up to you!
