A Treasure Hunt is a way for finding answers to questions using the Internet. In this hunt you will be asked some questions that will help you learn more about rainforests.

 

Instructions: Read and answer the following questions. In each question you are provided with a link, click on it to find the answer within that site. Write your answers on the answer sheet provided.  Make sure you print a copy of the answer sheet.

 

 

1.      What is a rainforest?

2.      Name the two types of rainforests. What is the difference between them?

 

3.      What is the climate in the tropical rainforest?

4.      What are the rainforest layers? Name and describe each layer and what lives in it.

5.      Select an animal of the rainforest and describe its habitat, diet, any enemies and one interesting fact. (Use the pull down menus)

 

6.      Who lives in the rainforest?

7.      What are the causes of rainforest deforestation?

 

8.      What are the effects of destruction?

 

 

9.      Choose one rainforest plant, one useful and edible plant and one medicinal plant and describe it and its purpose.

 

 

10.  Where in the world are rainforests located?

 

11.   Rainforests are important to us even though we don't live in one. Give two reasons why.

 

 

12.   Many products that we use come from the rainforest.  Name at least one product from each category and if necessary explain its use.
