The Salem Witch Trials Internet Activity Project Information This Treasure Hunt is about the actual Trials that took place in Massachusetts in 1692. It is intended to be used as a pre-reading activity before the book " The Crucible" is read. Students will hopefully have a better understanding of how people behaved during this time period.
Powerful Poetry PowerPoint Project Information This is a Power Point Presentation great for getting students involved and excited about writing poetry.  Examples of a variety of poetry types and a poet’s advice are included in this project.
An American Century: 1890's-1990's Internet Activity Project Information This project is a Treasure Hunt which will be used to prepare students historically and culturally to read the book Having Our Say:  The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years.
Navigating the Net for Authors Online Internet Activity Project Information This lesson involves creating strategies to research a particular author using online resources. Students will be introduced to strategies to construct and conduct Internet searches using Search Engines and Subject Directories to locate relevant information.  By focusing on general online sites rather than print or subscription databases, students will develop strategies to successfully navigate through and understand the diverse nature of online sources.
The Road From Salem: 1692-present Internet Activity Project Information Prior to reading The Crucible, students will learn about the actual Salem Witch Trials, Joseph McCarthy and his House Un-American Activities Committee, and Arthur Miller, the author of The Crucible.  Students will visit selected Internet sites to read informational text and to find the answers to specific questions about these topics.
A Raisin in the Sun PowerPoint Project Information

This Multimedia project covers topics relevant to the African American culture from 1950 to today and includes the video “A Raisin in the Sun”.   The issues of higher education, integration and family structure addressed are still relevant today and confront families of all races.

This Power Point presentation is an overview of the tremendous historical change and inspiring heroes of the Colonial Period.  This presentation has many activities including asking students to create a colonial newspaper documenting some of this fascination history.  Students also look at political cartoons, make a graph using Math skills, and read a book.

Critics of the New Deal PowerPoint Project Information The project is about the critics of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal.  Its purpose is to have students become familiar with FDR’s critics and their programs.  It will also provide students with a knowledge of photos, voices and ephemeral of the period.  It will be used as an integral part of instruction for the New Deal.
