Frogs Internet Activity Project Information This web-activity is to be used in conjunction with science curriculum pertaining to Habitats and/or Life Cycles.  Teachers participating in Project View (Cincinnati Zoo) may also use this as a final assessment of student learning.
Exploring the Five Senses Internet Activity Project Information

The purpose of this web page is to provide a resource for Early Childhood learning of the five senses.  Students will discover information, interact with the computer, view videos regarding the senses, and test their knowledge and learning about the five senses.   The content of this project connects to the NYS Standards in English Language arts, Science, and Health.  Students will listen and read for information.  Students will also understand how the five senses work, and students will ask “why” questions to gain a greater understanding.  Students will need a very basic understanding of computers in order to run the program.  The time required to implement this project can vary according to classroom need.  This project could be used as a supplement for the five senses unit, which would call for several lessons of use.  It could also be used as a center/one time learning experience, or enrichment project.  If this project is used as whole class instruction, then it should be used in a computer lab setting.

Earthworms and Mud pies Internet Activity Project Information

This is a project alternative to the Second Grade Science Unit which involves keeping compost in your room with earthworms to learn about soil aeration.  It is intended to help elementary students dig into a variety of important topics in geology and earth science. How to Make a Mud Pie streaming video explains how soil is formed through the pretext of making a mud pie, nature's way. We start with inorganic ingredients, especially rock. After weathering the rock thoroughly, we add generous amounts of organic matter, including microscopic organisms such as earthworms and ground squirrels to help mix it all together. A good mud pie can vary in color and texture, but tastes lousy. Still, it will grow great things that kids really like to eat, such as broccoli, spinach, and lima beans. It is on online activity combining united streaming videos and traditional paper quizzes. 

Milton's Excellent Adventure Learning About the Earth PowerPoint Project Information The Earth and celestial phenomena can be described by principles of relative motion and perspective.  This program will expose students to the natural cycles and patterns that give us day and night, and our four seasons. This includes the rotation of the Earth and it’s revolution around the sun.
Milton's Excellent Adventure Through Nutrition PowerPoint Project Information This project exposes students to nutrition and the food pyramid.  Essential questions are answered regarding how and why healthy food choices are important.
Life in the Sea PowerPoint Project Information This PowerPoint presentation is part of a lesson about life in the Sea and is appropriate for grades K-2. The slides include a large variety of examples of sea life in both image and video format.
Dinosaurs PowerPoint Project Information This PowerPoint project is designed as a visual introduction to a unit on dinosaurs. This is part of Lincoln School Reading Incentive Program for the 2002-2003 school year.
Mammals Internet Activity Project Information The purpose of this web-activity is to introduce students to the animal group mammals.  Students will be able to use this activity and the Internet to identify mammal characteristics and identify an animal as belonging to the mammal group.
Dinosaurs Internet Activity Project Information

This project will allow children to explore the amazing world of the dinosaurs. It is an interdisciplinary project that will be used in a school wide thematic program to promote independent reading as well as build upon student’s interests in dinosaurs in all curricular areas. 

Simple Machines Internet Project Information This project gives descriptions and examples of the six simple machines.  This is an introductory lesson into simple machines. This project provides animated examples and poses problems to be solved by the students.

This Web quest activity looks at the animals that live in the ocean, and the task is to design an ocean habitat.  Watch a video on sea life and create a virtual ocean on the Web.  You will investigate what your animal looks like, where your animal lives, what it eats, and who eats it!   What will your animal need to live and be happy? 
Spider Webs Internet Activity Project Information This project is designed to acquaint second and third grade students with spider webs.  Students will use selected Internet sites to answer questions about the construction, variety, and use of the webs.  Upon completion of this activity the students will acquire a better understanding and appreciation of spider webs.
Seasons Internet Activity Project Information This project will serve as a tool to develop 1st grade students’ grasp of technology and content appropriate to the grade level.
Hatching Duck Eggs Internet Activity Project Information The students will learn how to hatch ducks in the classroom.  The students will be able to identify the equipment and its purpose in hatching duck eggs.  The students will observe the stages of embryo development through the use of candling.  The students will learn how the duck uses his egg tooth to hatch from the egg.  The students will learn what and why a brooder is necessary.  
Food Pyramid Internet Activity Project Information

The activity will provide students with opportunity to do research on the Food Pyramid using the internet. All sites used in conjunction with this Treasure Hunt have been teacher tested and approved, providing students with the ability to search and “surf the net” without the possibility of using inappropriate sites.

The Tropical Rainforest PowerPoint Project Information This presentation provides students in grades K - 3 with an opportunity to explore the rainforest focusing on key terms and understandings such as the various layers, products, deforestation and rehabilitation. It can be used with individuals, partners, in a small group setting as well as large group presentation. Sample activities are included for K – 1 students.
Our Solar System Internet Activity Project Information This project focuses on the nine planets in our solar system.  The purpose is to help students gain a better understanding of each of the planets.
Tiny Travelers PowerPoint Project Information This PowerPoint project shows students how seeds are spread and sown. Students will participate in classroom discussion, and engage in both hands-on and written supplemental activities.
Egg to Chick PowerPoint Project Information Students will be introduced to The Life Cycle of a chick by watching our Power Point presentation.  We will show the children what will happen inside the egg as we incubate our chick eggs in our classrooms.  The purpose is to motivate, excite and captivate their interest as we begin this unit of study.
Wood Road Wolf PowerPoint Project Information This project  includes some history and information about the life of a wolf from a pup to an adult.  Activities include writing, reading comprehension, analyzing maps and graphs, and fun and games.

Learning About Sound PowerPoint Project Information This project was designed to introduce the topic of sound – how it is measured, how it travels and how sounds are different.  Hands on activities include making a bottle piano, a box guitar, and telephone.  A water bottle xylophone is here and is a great online activity.
Animals in Winter PowerPoint Project Information

This project provides an introduction to animals and how they adapt and survive in the winter environment.  It includes activities for students to create collages and posters, read selected books and research various animals for a written report.

Save the Earth Treasure Hunt Project Information This treasure hunt will allow the students to develop an understanding of the origin and importance of Earth Day.
