NYS Virtual Learning Space
Portal Grant
The purpose of the NY State Virtual
Learning Space Content Development Grant is to make
standards-based content, quality educational resources, and
dynamic and interactive application tools developed by the
Technology Literacy Challenge Fund grantees available and
affordable to all users, including teachers, students, parents,
and community members. The goal is to foster standards-based
teaching by teachers, exciting learning by students and meaningful
involvement by parents.
NYNET
Resources for Teachers Current Role
Through our continuing model of
professional development, we will move forward with developing quality
content for inclusion on our project resource site. The projects that
have been developed and will continue to be developed in the future will
have statewide access.
In addition to the many projects that exist on our site, we are
continuing to develop resources that will enhance student learning and achievement.
- NYNET Resources for Teachers, the
former Capital Region Collaboration for Technology Education, has
been selected as one of the seven Title III consortiums to play a
role in the NY State Virtual Learning Space (NYSVLS) Content
Development Grant. The seven recipients will engage in a
collaborative effort to transform the process of classroom
teaching and learning and to assist students in achieving high
academic performance and attaining knowledge and skills required
in the 21st century and global economy
NYSVLS
Grant Recipients
Out of 19 applications,
seven were chosen based on the quality, significance, and value
criteria. They have developed rich and quality educational content for
teachers and students. With the grants, they will continue to develop
their web content and increase bandwidth and hosting capacity to make
their resources open and free to all New York schools. At the same time,
they will work collaboratively to develop an integrated web portal for
the NYS Virtual Learning Community. We are pleased to partner with
Buffalo City School District, Oswego City School District, Wayne-Finger
Lakes BOCES, Nassau County BOCES, Syracuse City School District and Cattaraugus-Allegany
BOCES. For their educational content focus and web URL, go to:
